On Tuesday the 11th of August, we were treated with a visit from Little Animal House Petting Zoo who brought along a variety of cute and cuddly friends for a petting zoo tying in to our Ekka theme for the month.
Fortunately Mother Nature was kind and provided us with a break from the cold, windy weather and gave us a beautiful, clear and warm day.

The petting zoo was held in the garden area at the end of Melaleuca and was attended by residents from all over the facility. The residents enjoyed watching, playing and cuddling with piglets, baby goats, chickens, guinea pigs, sheep and a Shetland pony all morning.
Seeing the animals helped lead to many of the residents reminiscing and sharing stories about their life growing up or working on farms.

There were smiles all around with some residents stating that they would happily spend all day just sitting and watching the animals play.
The residents were not the only ones enjoying themselves, they were joined by many staff and family members who shared in the excitement of patting and holding the small animals.

We highly recommend Little Animal House Petting Zoo to anyone wanting to have a bright, fun-filled day appropriate for people of all ages.
